3. 20,027 individuals recertified for a rate of 76%.

4. Reviewed 7110 program submissions 4378 were from SHRM affiliates.

Current Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the PHR, SPHR or GPHR exam you must have at least TWO YEARS of PROFESSIONAL (exempt-level) HR experience PROFILE OF AN IDEAL CANDIDATE THE PHR CANDIDATE

• Has two to four years of exempt-level (professional) generalist experience.

• Has not had progressive HR work experience by virtue of career length.

• Focuses on program implementation rather than creation.

• Focuses impact on the organization within HR function rather than organization wide.

THE SPHR CANDIDATE

• Has six to eight years of progressive exempt-level (professional) experience.

• Understands the business, not just the HR function.

• Designs and plans rather than implements.

• Makes decisions that have an impact within and outside the organization.

THE GPHR CANDIDATE

• Has at least two years of exempt-level (professional) experience in international HR practices.

• Has core knowledge of the organization’s international HR activities.

• Develops and implements global HR strategies.

• Makes decisions that affect international HR operations and international assignments.

2 years of demonstrated global exempt-level HR experience with a Master’s degree or higher 2 years of demonstrated exempt-level HR experience with a Bachelor’s degree 4 years of demonstrated exempt-level HR experience with less than a Bachelor’s degree   5 years of demonstrated exempt-level HR experience with a Bachelor’s degree 7 years of demonstrated exempt-level HR experience with less than a Bachelor’s degree   3 years of demonstrated exempt-level HR experience (with 2 of the 3 being global HR experience) with a Bachelor’s degree 4 years of demonstrated exempt-level HR experience (with 2 of the 4 being global HR experience) with less than a Bachelor’s degree
