
SAISD has consistently improved school ratings.




In 2002, Exemplary rated schools increased to 10, up from 0 in 1997.
The number of Recognized schools has increased from 5 in 1997 to 33 in 2002.
Acceptable schools decreased to 38 in 2002, down from 78 in 1997.
The number of Low Performing schools has ranged from 0 to 8 over the 6 year period.

After leveling off at around 94% since 1996, SAISD’s attendance rate climbed to
an all-time-high of 94.9% in 2001 and remained at this high level in 2002.

In 2002, SAISD received a Gold Performance Acknowledgement for the
