San Antonio ISD’s Academic Excellence Indicator System Report will be highlighted in this presentation. In 2002, Exemplary rated schools increased to 10, up from 0 in 1997. The number of Recognized schools has increased from 5 in 1997 to 33 in 2002. Acceptable schools decreased to 38 in 2002, down from 78 in 1997. The number of Low Performing schools has ranged from 0 to 8 over the 6 year period. The District has gained 20 percentage points since 1994. African American students experienced the largest percentage point decrease (1.6 points). Consistently, Economically Disadvantaged students have experienced a lower dropout rate than students in total. SAISD’s completion rate has consistently measured below state levels. AEIS Report Summary 11/6/2015 SAISD Recommended High School Program Participation In 2002, SAISD received a Gold Performance Acknowledgement for the increase in students participating in the more rigorous course of study under the Recommended High School Program. In 2001, 48% of SAISD students, graduated under either the Distinguished Achievement Program or the Recommended High School Program.
