If I can find 10% how can I find 1%?
Example: Find 1% of £350
Method 1
1% is the same as 1/100th so I can divide by 100
£350 ÷ 100 = £3.5 written £3.50
Method 2
1% is 10% divided by 10.
10% of £350 is £35 so 1% is £35 ÷10 = £3.5 or £3.50
