Marketing and Sales Committee
 As Director of IEEE Sales and Marketing Department,
Jonathan Dahl summarized status of their take over
of IHS’ $70M activities that have contributed to over
$100M sales in 2006 and over $110M in 2007
 Discussion about staff attendance at conferences to
market IEEE membership, products and services;
Conferences Committee, under Gerry Engel will be
requesting continued funding of this activity – we’re
making sure that EAB products and services are
also being marketed!
 Discussion about possible overlaps between
Marketing and Sales Committee and other Boards
(e.g., PSPB) and Committees (e.g., TAB/PSPB P&S)
 IEEE Sales and Marketing Department is welcoming
the take over IEEE Expert Now marketing and sales
from Thompson, which retains the module
development and hosting responsibilities

PSPB
 2006 VP Saifur Rahman replaced by John Baillieul as
PSPB VP in 2007
 The replacement of the Oracle system with Siebel’s
Business Management System (BMS) continues to be
delayed; the Xplore cut-over with these new BMS
features was supposed to happen by 7/1/06 but may
not be completed till mid-2007
 Since the offering of Member IEEE Expert Now is
dependent on the BMS, it must now again be delayed
till 3/07. Actually, IEEE and Thompson should focus on
seamlessly having Thompson’s LMS operate under
IEEE’s Xplore
 Gerry Grenier reviewed new features in future releases
of IEEE Xplore
 IEEE Press seems to have turned the corner in regard
to net revenue
