Arms Room Concept
Based Off Mission Needs
The “Arms Room Concept” will significantly enhance Light Forces’ Battalion
fire support capability by having both an 81mm Mortar and a 120mm Mortar.
This gives the Commander the flexibility to choose the Mortar for the
Mission. Having this capability to pick and choose the right Mortar will
increase the Battalion Mortar Platoon’s Combat Effectiveness.

FCS Mounted Mortar Ammunition
• “Considered FCS Essential Core Enablers”
FCS NLOS Mortar must be capable of firing future developmental munitions, (without modification)
or degradation to mortar system performance. Must also be capable of firing developmental
munitions (i.e. conventional, precision guided mortar munition (PGMM), and dual purpose improved
conventional munitions [DPICM], training and non-lethal), 12 km (Threshold) and 15 km (Objective).
