Objectives

The literature study of the theoretical and empirical background of innovation
activities and innovation policy.

The exploration of reasons, content, characteristics and extent of doubling R&D and
patenting efforts
(e.g. strategic protection of knowledge, lack of information of parallel projects, bias
of overlapping R&D in certain technological, industrial or scientific fields, etc.)
●
Empirical investigation of patent decisions by NBPR
●
The identifying of the main reasons for “unhealthy” overlapping R&D efforts and the
exploration of opportunities to reduce “unhealthy” overlapping patenting and
innovation in national innovation environment.
