CalOne Card
• Functions as your
campus ID
• Used for building
access, campus shuttle,
and local buses.

Mail
• Mailboxes
– EE students will have a mailbox in 253 Cory
– CS students will have a mailbox in 396 Soda
– MEng students are eligible for mailbox by request
• Mailing Lists
– Automatically added to department lists
– List of social groups on CSGSA website,
https://csgsa.berkeley.edu/index.php/Email_Lists
Campus Systems
Registration and Enrollment
• What does it mean to be registered?
– Enrolled in classes
– Fees paid
– No registration blocks
• How are my fees paid?
– GSRs - sign up by requesting an appointment
through ERSO online system
– Fellowships – department will pay
CA Residency
• U.S. citizens and permanent residents should
establish CA residency after their first year.
• Students that choose not to establish
residency or do not qualify for residency after
their first year will be responsible for paying
the Non-resident tuition.
New Graduate Student Seminar
• Wednesday mornings at 9 am in the Wozniak
Lounge
• September 2 – October 14
• October 14 will be a social hour for new
students to ask questions of current students
and staff
• Topics: Introduction to EECS, EE and CS
research areas
• Breakfast will be provided
