Dan Cornelius Vice President for Project Management Wisconsin Union Timeline October 2006: Student body passes Student Union Initiative by 2-1 vote 2005: Initial Planning & Visioning Late May 2008: CG Schmidt selected as Construction Manager at Risk May 2008: Completion of Design Concept December 2007: Workshop Architects of Milwaukee and Moody Nolan of Ohio are selected to design the building after a length state approval process Dec. 2008Feb. 2009: Final Approvals Feb.-March 2009: Demolition August 2008: Completion & Approval of Schematic Design March 2011: Completion Student Union Initiative (Fall 2006) • Bring the Memorial Union up to current safety and accessibility codes while preserving and enhancing the building's historic ambiance. • Build a new south campus union designed to attract students, meet the campus' growing needs, and reflect the future in green technology and building materials. • Give students control over every aspect of the project and ownership of the final results.
