Area and Perimeter of a Triangle 2 D AND 3 D SHAPES & FORMULAS CLICK ON THIS LINK HTTP://WWW.YOUTUBE.COM/WATCH?V=Y_-CONZMITO Squares and rectangles Perimeter is the distance around a figure. For a rectangle or square, we can find the perimeter using two procedures: Using addition: (l + l) + (w + w). Add the length and its opposite side. Add the width to its opposite. Find the sum of the lengths and widths. For a square use (s+s+s+s) . Using multiplication: (l x 2) + (w x 2). Multiply the length by 2. Multiply the width by 2. Find the sum of the products. For a square use 4 s because all the sides are congruent. Area is the number of square units inside a retangle or square. Area is found by multiplying the length by the width or side by side in the case of a square. The Perimeter is the sum of all side lengths: Perimeter = a+b+c+d http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfgwHptgG4 Click on this link 2 D SHAPES AND FORMULAS CLICK ON THIS LINK HTTP://WWW.YOUTUBE.COM/WATCH?V=-BL3FLZBIFE Perimeter of a Trapezoid The Perimeter is the distance around the edges. Example: A trapezoid has side length of 5 cm, 12 cm, 4 cm and 15 cm, what is its Perimeter? Perimeter = 5 cm + 12 cm + 4 cm + 15 cm = 36 cm Area of a Trapezoid The Area is the average of the two base lengths times the altitude A = (a + b) X h 2 2 D AND 3 D SHAPES & FORMULAS 2 D AND 3 D SHAPES & FORMULAS 2 D AND 3 D SHAPES & FORMULAS CIRCUMFERENCE The circumference of a circle is the distance around the outside of the circle. It could be called the perimeter of the circle. How to find the circumference of a circle: The circumference of a circle can be found by multiplying pi ( π = 3.14 ) by the diameter of the circle. If you know the radius, the diameter is twice as large. 2 D AND 3 D SHAPES & FORMULAS http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fasm79p arv4Click on this link. 2 D AND 3 D SHAPES & FORMULAS http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDl7p4fj GQI Click on this link 2 D and 3 D Shapes & Formulas 2 D and 3 D Shapes & Formulas Surface area of a rectangular prism http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agIV623 B3nc Click on this surface area link Volume of a rectangular prism http://www.youtube.com/watch?v= E8tuMaDxgJM Click on this link 2 D AND 3 D SHAPES & FORMULAS 2 D and 3 D Shapes & Formulas http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aigefhb1NM&NR=1&feature=endscreen Click on this surface area part1link http://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_12335&feat ure=iv&src_vid=Aigefhb-1NM&v=T6VxjB7bS5o Click on this surface area part 2 link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QDmHVEcSfk Click on this volume link 2 D AND 3 D SHAPES & FORMULAS
