commencing with a 2 year pilot program
Must meet the needs of the deaf-blind
individual to achieve access to communication

Who is eligible to receive equipment?
Only low-income individuals who are deaf-blind.
Applicants must provide verification of their status as
low-income and deaf-blind.
CVAA requires that the term "deaf-blind" has the
same meaning defined Helen Keller National Center
Individual must have a certain vision loss and a
hearing loss that, combined, cause extreme difficulty
in attaining independence in daily life activities, or
obtaining a vocation (working).

iPhones from HumanWare
iPhones that are included with the Communicator
package are “GSM Unlocked” models
US customers can only use these phones on AT&T’s
network. GSM unlocked phones will not work with
the Verizon or Sprint wireless networks.
To use Verizon or Sprint, customers can purchase
their own phone and install the HumanWare
Communicator app
HumanWare will “gift” the HW Communicator app if a
HumanWare braille product is purchased
