What is Packet Data Protocol?
TETRA PDP defines a dedicated control channel
(PDCH) for transporting packet data
• Mobile and fixed hosts are accessed via IP
address rather than ITSI address
• Multiple hosts can share the same PDCH
simultaneously. Contention is managed by the
PDP air interface protocol.
• Large IP packets are split into AL (Advanced
Link) segments for transmission on air
interface.
