By Elle Rose
The Source.
• The source is the
start, or beginning, of
a river. The source of
a river is usually
found in the hills or
mountains. A river can
have more than one
source. The source is
where a river begins
its journey.
Tributaries.
• A Tributary is a
stream or river which
flows into a parent
river. The place where
a Tributarie joins the
parent river is called
the confluence.
Meanders.
• Meander - a broad,
looping bend in a river usually in the middle or
lower course.
• The meander continually
changes shape as the
fast flowing current of
water erodes the outside
bank of the meander
bend and deposition
occurs in the slack water
of the inside of the bend.
The Mouth.
• The mouth may be
where the river meets
the sea , a lake or a
large water way .
• Most rivers flow out
into the sea , and this
is where they end
there journey.
