URBAN DEBATE LEAGUE
Overton dominated the competition this
weekend at the fifth and final regular
debate tournament hosted by the MUDL
this year.
Overton competes again at the Citywide
Tournament in March to determine who
competes at nationals in NYC this April.
• In the Junior Varsity Competition - 17th
Place Justin Dandridge (his first
competition), 9th Place Aaliyah Malone,
5th Place Rudi Currie, and 4th Place Nigel
Greer.
• In the Varsity Competition - 18th Place
Kheadrick Caston, 9th Place Olivia
Campbell, 7th Place Diamonique Jackson,
1st Place Keenon Fox.
Debate Awards:

Crystal Scruggs and Ciara Hernandez- Quarterfinalists (first competition)
Ashley Currie and Zenobia Armstrong - Semifinalists
Rudi Currie and Aaliyah Malone - Semi-finalists
Nigel Greer and Eric Settle - First Place
In the Varsity Competition:
Keenon Fox and Kheadrick Caston - First Place
The Overton Team also won the coveted
Sweepstakes Trophy for having more wins than
any other squad at the tournament - our second
sweepstakes trophy this year!
Congrats to all who participated. Good luck in Citywide Tournament.
