Simulated Client Workshop Introductions Aims Outcomes Introduction • Simulated Patient Bank Dundee • Started 1997 • Patients involved in: – Medical School – Dental School – School of Nursing & Midwifery – Tayside Centre for General Practice – Health Centres and G.P. Practices Introduction • Recent developments – Review of Scripts – Introduction of training to introduce more realism through non-verbal cues – Improvisation skills Aim of the Workshop • The aim of this workshop is to encourage the participant to develop further their skills in the use of scripts, development of a character and improvisation during a simulated encounter. Objectives • At the end of the workshop the participant will: 1. Recognise the relevance of a script in developing a character 2. Recognise the importance of non-verbal cues in maintaining realism 3. Practise using a script 4. Discuss the importance of a checklist in assessing a students performance
