CONCLUSION
• 22 600 children who have French as heritage in NYC,
enough to fill 35 schools (NYC average 1/647)
• In high demand with non-French families: French
dual-language programs have welcome more nonFrench heritage speakers than French ones.
• We need more dedicated parents and principals to
initiate dual-language programs in other primary
and middle schools, and why not a high school.
• More schools means finding more teachers, more
resources (books), and more funds (teacher
development scholarships, cultural activities, etc).
• French bilingual revolution is happening. Join us.
