Luke 16:1-2
Now He was also saying to the
disciples, “There was a rich man who
had a manager, and this manager was
reported to him as squandering his
possessions. 2 And he called him and
said to him, ‘What is this I hear about
you? Give an accounting of your
management, for you can no longer be
manager.’”
Luke 16:3-4
“The manager said to himself,
‘What shall I do, since my master is
taking the management away from me?
I am not strong enough to dig; I am
ashamed to beg. 4 I know what I shall
do, so that when I am removed from
the management people will welcome
me into their homes.’”
Luke 16:5-7
“And he summoned each one of
his master’s debtors, and he began
saying to the first, ‘How much do you
owe my master?’ 6 And he said, ‘A
hundred measures of oil.’ And he said
to him, ‘Take your bill, and sit down
quickly and write fifty.’ 7 Then he said
to another, ‘And how much do you
owe?’ And he said, ‘A hundred
measures of wheat.’ He said to him,
‘Take your bill, and write eighty.’”
Luke 16:8-9
And his master praised the
unrighteous manager because he had
acted shrewdly; for the sons of this age
are more shrewd in relation to their own
kind than the sons of light. 9 And I say
to you, make friends for yourselves by
means of the wealth of unrighteousness, so that when it fails, they will
receive you into the eternal dwellings.”

Luke 16:14-15
Now the Pharisees, who were
lovers of money, were listening to all
these things and were scoffing at Him.
15 And He said to them, “You are those
who justify yourselves in the sight of
men, but God knows your hearts; for
that which is highly esteemed among
men is detestable in the sight of God.”
Luke 16:16
“The Law and the Prophets were
proclaimed until John; since that time
the gospel of the kingdom of God has
been preached, and everyone is forcing
his way into it.”

Luke 17:1-2
He said to His disciples, “It is
inevitable that stumbling blocks come,
but woe to him through whom they
come! 2 It would be better for him if a
millstone were hung around his neck
and he were thrown into the sea, than
that he would cause one of these little
ones to stumble.”
Luke 17:3-4
“Be on your guard! If your brother
sins, rebuke him; and if he repents,
forgive him. 4 And if he sins against
you seven times a day, and returns to
you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’
forgive him.”
Luke 17:5-6
The apostles said to the Lord,
“Increase our faith!” 6 And the Lord
said, "If you had faith like a mustard
seed, you would say to this mulberry
tree, ‘Be uprooted and be planted in the
sea’; and it would obey you.”

Luke 18:1-2
Now He was telling them a
parable to show that at all times they
ought to pray and not to lose heart, 2
saying, “In a certain city there was a
judge who did not fear God and did not
respect man.”
Luke 18:3
“There was a widow in that city,
and she kept coming to him, saying,
‘Give me legal protection from my
opponent.’”
Luke 18:4-5
“For a while he was unwilling; but
afterward he said to himself, ‘Even
though I do not fear God nor respect
man, 5 yet because this widow bothers
me, I will give her legal protection,
otherwise by continually coming she
will wear me out.’”
Luke 18:6-8
And the Lord said, “Hear what the
unrighteous judge said; 7 now, will not
God bring about justice for His elect
who cry to Him day and night, and will
He delay long over them? 8 I tell you
that He will bring about justice for them
quickly. However, when the Son of Man
comes, will He find faith on the earth?”

Luke 18:9-10
And He also told this parable to
some people who trusted in themselves
that they were righteous, and viewed
others with contempt: 10 “Two men
went up into the temple to pray, one a
Pharisee and the other a tax collector.”
Luke 18:11-12
“The Pharisee stood and was
praying this to himself: ‘God, I thank
You that I am not like other people:
swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even
like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a
week; I pay tithes of all that I get.’”
Luke 18:13
“But the tax collector, standing
some distance away, was even
unwilling to lift up his eyes to heaven,
but was beating his breast, saying,
‘God, be merciful to me, the sinner!’”
Luke 18:14
“I tell you, this man went to his
house justified rather than the other; for
everyone who exalts himself will be
humbled, but he who humbles himself
will be exalted.”
