CHALLENGE
You are assigned to ensure that sufficient
learning technology resources are infused
throughout your district's instructional program
to support key educational reform initiatives:




implementation of the Common Core;
use of data to guide practice and decision-making;
use of teacher and principal evaluation systems; and
a transition to computer-based testing.
CBT Field Guidance
Consider the budget and resource allocation
decisions needed based on different stakeholders in
your district or region.

Identify the primary community stakeholders in
your district/region (e.g., student, teacher, parent,
administrator, Board member).

For each stakeholder identified, list an essential
question and a promising practice or model to
address that question.
CBT Field Guidance
Focus areas:
1. Device Purchases (aid for tools)
2. Infrastructure Acquisition (construction,
renovation)
3. Technical Support (personnel)
4. Professional Development (capacity-building to
train and sustain)
5. Curriculum and Instruction (technology use
across content areas)
CBT Field Guidance
Your responses will be used to support NYSED field
guidance in development to support the state's
transition to computer-based testing and to prepare
for a larger technology-focused approach to teaching
and learning.
