• Over 13 million units - employ about 42 million
workforce
• 6000 Products ranging from traditional to high
tech
• Accounts for 45% of total manufacturing output
and 40% of total exports, in terms of value
• 10 - 13 % growth rate in the last 5 Years – much
higher than overall industrial growth
• Sectors like Auto-components, Life Sciences, IT
etc. are among the world leaders
