HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE RICH?
Matthew 19:23 Then Jesus said to His disciples,
"Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich
man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 "And
again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go
through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to
enter the kingdom of God."
Luke 6:24 " But woe to you who are rich, For you
have received your consolation.
1 Timothy 6:9 But those who desire to be rich fall
into temptation and a snare, and into many
foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in
destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of
money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which
some have strayed from the faith in their
greediness, and pierced themselves through with
many sorrows.
James 5:1 Come now, you rich, weep and howl
for your miseries that are coming upon you! 2
Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are
moth-eaten. 3 Your gold and silver are corroded,
and their corrosion will be a witness against you
and will eat your flesh like fire. You have heaped
up treasure in the last days. 4 Indeed the wages
of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you
kept back by fraud, cry out; and the cries of the
reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of
Sabaoth. 5 You have lived on the earth in
pleasure and luxury; you have fattened your
hearts as in a day of slaughter. 6 You have
condemned, you have murdered the just; he does
not resist you.
James 1:9 Let the lowly brother glory in his
exaltation, 10 but the rich in his humiliation,
because as a flower of the field he will pass away.
11 For no sooner has the sun risen with a burning
heat than it withers the grass; its flower falls, and
its beautiful appearance perishes. So the rich man
also will fade away in his pursuits.
1 Peter 1:17 And if you call on the Father, who
without partiality judges according to each one's
work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of
your stay here in fear; 18 knowing that you were
not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver
or gold, from your aimless conduct received by
tradition from your fathers, 19 but with the
precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without
blemish and without spot.

Luke 12:16 Then He spoke a parable to them,
saying: "The ground of a certain rich man yielded
plentifully. 17 "And he thought within himself,
saying, 'What shall I do, since I have no room to
store my crops?' 18 "So he said, 'I will do this: I
will pull down my barns and build greater, and
there I will store all my crops and my goods. 19
'And I will say to my soul, "Soul, you have many
goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat,
drink, and be merry." ' 20 "But God said to him,
'Fool! This night your soul will be required of you;
then whose will those things be which you have
provided?' 21 "So is he who lays up treasure for
himself, and is not rich toward God."

Revelation 3:15"I know your works, that you are
neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold
or hot. 16 "So then, because you are lukewarm,
and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of
My mouth. 17 "Because you say, 'I am rich, have
become wealthy, and have need of nothing' -and do not know that you are wretched,
miserable, poor, blind, and naked -- 18 "I counsel
you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that
you may be rich; and white garments, that you
may be clothed, that the shame of your
nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your
eyes with eye salve, that you may see. 19 "As
many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore
be zealous and repent.
Problems that come from a desire to be rich:
1. It can cause you to become covetous.
2. You will make money your master.
Matthew 6:24 " No one can serve two masters;
for either he will hate the one and love the other,
or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the
other. You cannot serve God and mammon.
3. It will cause you to become selfish.
4. Cause you to think there is nothing that money
can’t buy
1 Timothy 6:6 Now godliness with contentment is
great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this
world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
8 And having food and clothing, with these we
shall be content. 9 But those who desire to be
rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into
many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men
in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of
money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which
some have strayed from the faith in their
greediness, and pierced themselves through with
many sorrows.
Matthew 4:4 Man shall not live by bread alone,
but by every word that proceeds from the mouth
of God.'
Matthew 6:24" No one can serve two masters; for either
he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be
loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve
God and mammon. 25 " Therefore I say to you, do not
worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will
drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not
life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26
"Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap
nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds
them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 "Which of
you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 28 "So
why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of
the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29
"and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory
was not arrayed like one of these.
30 "Now if God so clothes the grass of the field,
which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the
oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of
little faith? 31 "Therefore do not worry, saying,
'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or
'What shall we wear?' 32 "For after all these things
the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows
that you need all these things. 33 "But seek first the
kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these
things shall be added to you. 34 "Therefore do not
worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry
about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own
trouble.
Matthew 6:19 " Do not lay up for yourselves
treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy
and where thieves break in and steal; 20 "but lay
up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where
neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves
do not break in and steal. 21 "For where your
treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 16:26 "For what profit is it to a man if
he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?
Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
2 Corinthians 8:9 For you know the grace of our
Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for
your sakes He became poor, that you through His
poverty might become rich.
