Ozone Business Challenge
• Businesses will be invited to
participate in a challenge to
reduce NOx and/or VOC
emissions at your facility.
• Awards include no match for P2 grants
and reduced/no Title V permit fee for 2009.

Pollution Prevention Grant Update
• Applications due January 16th, 2009
• Projects that reduce or replace any
chemical listed on the Toxics Release
Inventory will receive priority

JUMPSTART EMS program
• IDEM is partnering with Keramida to provide
free onsite EMS development to companies
that currently do not have an EMS in place.
• There are still several openings.

1. Reduced match requirement for P2 Grant

Assessment Grant

Equipment Grant
4. Reduced Self-Inspection Frequency (329 IAC
3.1-1-7 and 329 IAC 3.1-7)
New 3R’s Equipment Grant
• Available to businesses that have completed a
waste assessment
• Up to $40,000 with a 50% match
• As previously noted, there is a reduced match
for ESP Members
• Pre-Proposals due January 23rd
IDEM Personnel Changes
• Terry Lewis, Retired
• Linda Williams, IDEM-OAQ
• TRI Coordinator position will not be filled;
however, we will continue to offer technical
assistance in regard to TRI questions.
State is currently on a hiring freeze.
Change in IDEM structure
• Office of Enforcement Staff will be moved to
the Offices of Air, Land and Water, respectively
• Some Shadeland staff will be moved back
downtown
• Local Air Pollution Control Agencies will be
phased out as their contract comes up for
renewal
