BACKGROUND
Working with Julie Anderson Coleman of the Geneva Neighborhood
Resource Center, we examined major key points that were outlined in
MATERIALS AND METHODS

• Used SPSS to interpret results using statistical measures such as frequency distributions and chi- square

Downtown Rejuvenation Plan. This research explores the nature of
the downtown economy, identifies problem areas and offers

The data suggests that communication and awareness issues are the main
limiting factors towards efficient and dynamic revitalization of Geneva’s
Downtown. The majority of business owners, both long standing and new, had
not heard about the “Payne Report” and were unsure of BID’s services. With the
“Payne Report” being a resource for information and guidelines for
Payne Report Clarity:

improvement, business owners would be at a distinct advantage in the
revitalization process if they were well-informed of its content. Additionally,
BID offers a multitude of services to Downtown business owners and potential
startups that if utilized, could rapidly improve Downtown’s image and
productivity.
