(ex: abc9999) 9 You will be required to answer the questions correctly in order to recover your registration information. You can also enter a phone number, e-mail address and a note for Parents to view in txConnect. (Reminder: Parents will be able to view your information in txConnect. If multiple courses are taught within the same period, this option will combine classes for attendance. Available Options: Alpha Order NEW Students on Top of list NEW Students on Bottom of list Department of Planning and Student Information Systems Profile Set-Up 15 • For security purposes, your password will expire every 90 days. • If your password has expired, you will be redirected to the Password Expired page before the Announcements page is displayed. 1. Type your current password 2. Type (and retype to confirm) you new password 3. Click Submit If you have typed the data correctly, your password will be changed, and the Announcement page will be displayed. Department of Planning and Student Information Systems To Change an Expired Password 16 Forget Your Password or Get Locked Out If you get locked out of your account, you must contact your campus Technology Teacher to reset. After your Technology Teacher resets your account, you will “click” on the “Forgot your Password? Department of Planning and Student Information Systems Warning: If you have three unsuccessful attempts to log on (invalid user ID/password combinations), the system will lock out your account. Department of Planning and Student Information Systems Teachers View 22 Choose the semester and course section. Then click Retrieve Data. Active students in will appear in the alpha order. Students who have withdrawn or dropped will appear on the bottom of the listing. Drag and drop the students into the desired order. Department of Planning and Student Information Systems Arrange Student Order 23 The student seating chart is independent of the Arrange Student Order. The Seating Chart Setup page allows you to create and maintain seating charts for all of your classes. The seating chart lists the student name, gender, and ID and photos if available. The seats are colorcoded by gender. Student seats can be rearranged at any time. Department of Planning and Student Information Systems Seating Chart 24 Categories Point – the total will initially be zero and will increment automatically as assignments are added to the category. Multiplier – allows the teacher to designate how many times a group of assignments will be counted towards the average. Department of Planning and Student Information Systems Percentage – weights must total 100%. Color Coding of Categories 25 Copy Categories Select them for both Semesters. Department of Planning and Student Information Systems Select courses you want to copy the previously selected categories. 26 Set-Up Assignments A teacher may also enter an assignment note which can be viewed in txConnect. By checking the Extra Credit box, the assignment can only help the student’s grade. Select Attendance & enter PIN and select post. On this page, the teacher may post attendance for a given period or view attendance that has already been posted. Department of Planning and Student Information Systems Select Date, Semester & Period 31 Once posted in the grade book, attendance must be changed in the SIS by the Attendance Clerk. Click the “Print” button. To make corrections, use black or blue ink. You must sign and date the corrections. Department of Planning and Student Information Systems Student Attendance 32 Throughout the application, the teacher may have the opportunity to click on the student ID to display additional student information. Department of Planning and Student Information Systems Accessing Student Information 33 If an e-mail address exists for the contact, you can click the contact's name to send an e-mail message to the contact Department of Planning and Student Information Systems Student Contact Information 34 Department of Planning and Student Information Systems Student Attendance 35 Department of Planning and Student Information Systems Student Schedule 36 The Student Photo page displays the student’s most recent photo, if available. If a photo is not available, an image will appear in place of the photo indicating that there is no photo on file for the student. The page may be populated using multiple selection criteria, including students withdrawn from the course. Department of Planning and Student Information Systems Assignment Grades 40 A Walk-in-Average only happens if the change is between two of the same courses. If the course numbers are different, the teacher will need to add a walk in grade to the gradebook. If corrections are needed, you may look at the student’s assignment grades or choose to use the Cycle Override field. The Cycle Override field allows you to override a student's working cycle average with a different grade (e.g., if the student's working cycle average is 69, you may give the student a cycle grade of 70). Any grades that appear in the OVERRIDE field will be posted as the student’s Nine Week Grades. If the Override field is blank, the Cycle Grade Average will be posted as the student’s Nine Week Grades. 2) Enter the Citizenship grade, if applicable. Your campus may have selected to default the citizenship (i.e., S). If so, you may change it to the appropriate citizenship grade (i.e., E). 3) Enter the Report Card Comments in the Report Card Comments field, if applicable. The Comment Legend is accessed by clicking the grey tab to your right. You may select up to five comments per student. 4) The Semester Average and the Working Final Grade is not used at this time. 5) When you have verified that all grades are accurate for each subject or class, click on MARK GRADES AS READY TO POST. You will then need to enter your PIN and click on Continue. This action will indicate that the grades for that subject or class are complete and accurate. All changes need to be saved by entering your PIN and clicking on SAVE prior to leaving the page for that particular course/section. Teachers can view data for up to one semester. Teachers can also generate a summary report that displays only totals for the selected date range.
