MATOC Program
• MATOC = Metropolitan Area Transportation Operations Coordination Program • Purpose: interagency real-time transportation information sharing, supporting regionally coordinated management of transportation systems, transportation incident and emergency response, and public information needs • Objectives: – Improve

operating procedures
practices & notification – Provide more timely & accurate transportation
information to the public

MATOC Program Background and Status
• 2005 TPB support, SAFETEA-LU funding through Congressman Moran • MATOC documents developed and signed recently – MOU, bylaws, funding agreement • Contract for consultant support - Request for Qualifications (RFQ) out now – Award anticipated in August • Steering Committee meets monthly, active since 2004 • Proposed formation of an Executive Committee 4
