Psa 89:15 Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are the people
who know the joyful sound [who understand and appreciate the
spiritual blessings symbolized by the feasts]; they walk, O Lord, in
the light and favor of Your countenance!
1Co 5:7 …. For even Christ our Passover is
sacrificed for us:
“Gods people are safe under the Blood of the Lamb”
What does Passover mean? “Pesach” Translated
Passover means a Passing over.
Exo 12:8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and
unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
Exo 12:46 In one house shall it be eaten; thou shalt not carry forth
aught of the flesh abroad out of the house; neither shall ye break a
bone thereof.
1. The Lamb should be eaten roasted with fire & no bones Broken
Heb 12:29 For our God is a consuming fire.
Rev 1:15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a
furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.
Notice the roasting sticks are crosses
Exo 12:8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and
unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
2. The Lamb should be eaten with unleavened bread
No sin was in Jesus he was pure, This speaks of feeding on the pure Word of
God
Psa 119:140 Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.
Leaven in the Bible is a
type of sin. Leaven
means “sour”

Joh 8:46 Who of you convicts Me of wrongdoing or finds Me guilty of sin?
Then if I speak truth, why do you not believe Me [trust Me, rely on, and
adhere to Me]?
Exo 12:8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and
unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
2. The Lamb should be eaten with unleavened bread
No sin was in Jesus he was pure, This speaks of feeding on the pure Word of
God
Pro 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust
in him.

Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we
beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of
grace and truth.
Exo 12:8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and
unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
3. It should be eaten with bitter herbs- Calvary was a bitter
experience. Sin is a bitter “Slavery” bondage to satan.
Mat 27:34 They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and
when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.
A variety of foods may be
used, horseradish, romaine
lettuce, and watercress being
the most common, but
whatever is used, it must be
included in the group of plants
whose common
characteristics are
“bitterness, possessing sap,
Rom 6:16 Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to
obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey--whether
you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which
leads to righteousness?
Exo 12:8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and
unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
The bitter herbs are eaten sitting upright, not reclining as in other times of the
Seder when wine is partaken or vegetable greens dipped and eaten. The
primary reason for this is that slaves were not allowed to recline as the freemen
did when they ate their meals. Because the bitter herbs are a reminder of the
bitterness of slavery, participants do not recline, but rather assume the position
of slaves
Joh 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Joh 8:33 They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in
bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
Joh 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever
committeth sin is the servant of sin.
Joh 8:35 And the servant abideth not in the house forever: but the Son abideth
ever.
Joh 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
Exo 12:8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and
unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
A Modern Passover meal
Roasted lamb shankbone: One
of the most striking symbols of
Passover is the roasted lamb
shankbone (called zeroah),
which commemorates the
paschal (lamb) sacrifice made
the night the ancient Hebrews
fled Egypt. Some people say it
symbolizes the outstretched
arm of God (the Hebrew word
zeroah can mean “arm”).
Isa 59:1 Behold, the LORD's
hand is not shortened, that it
cannot save; neither his ear
heavy, that it cannot hear:
Exo 12:8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and
unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
Roasted egg: The
roasted egg
(baytsah) is a
symbol in many
different cultures,
usually signifying
springtime and
renewal
Charoset: There’s nothing further from maror than
charoset (“kha-ROH-set”), that sweet salad of apples,
nuts, wine, and cinnamon that represents the mortar
used by the Hebrew slaves to make bricks.

Maror (“bitter herb”):
Any bitter herb will
work, though
horseradish is the
most common. Bitter
herbs bring tears to
the eyes and recall
the bitterness of
slavery.
Salt water: Salt
water symbolizes
the tears and
sweat of
enslavement
Chazeret: The chazeret
(“khah-ZER-et”) is a
second bitter herb,
Karpas: Karpas is
a green vegetable,
usually parsley
(though any spring
green will do)
symbolizes the
freshness of spring

4. It should not be eaten raw – Jesus had to experience the Fires of Calvary.
Heb 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which
he suffered;
It’s Not his perfect life but his sacrificial death that saves.
Rom 5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the
ungodly.
Rom 5:7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a
good man some would even dare to die.
Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet
sinners, Christ died for us.

5. It was not to be sodden with water- So the Gospel must not be
watered down.
1Ti 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in
them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that
hear thee.
Jud 1:4 For certain men whose condemnation was written about long
ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who
change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny
Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.

Eze 33:6 But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the
trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes the life of one of
them, that man will be taken away because of his sin, but I will hold the
watchman accountable for his blood.'
Eze 33:7 Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so
hear the word I speak and give them warning from me.
Eze 33:8 When I say to the wicked, 'O wicked man, you will surely die,' and you
do not speak out to dissuade him from his ways, that wicked man will die for his
sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood.
Eze 33:9 But if you do warn the wicked man to turn from his ways and he does
not do so, he will die for his sin, but you will have saved yourself.

and legs and inside parts must be fed upon. This speaks of the mind of
Christ, the walk of Christ and the heart or motives of Christ.

Php 2:5 Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you
which was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility:]

Jer 17:10 I the Lord search the mind, I try the heart, even to give to
every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his
doings.
Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than
any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul
and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the
thoughts and intents of the heart.
Exo 12:11 And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes

Loins girded
Jer 1:17 Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all
that I command thee: be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound thee
before them.
If you say that somebody is GIRDING their LOINS or GIRDING UP
their LOINS, you mean that they are preparing to do something
difficult or dangerous.

strangers and temporary residents and exiles upon the earth. [Gen.

Exo 12:12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night and will smite all
the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods
of Egypt I will execute judgment [proving their helplessness]. I am the Lord.
Exo 12:13 The blood shall be for a token or sign to you upon [the doorposts of]
the houses where you are, [that] when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and
no plague shall be upon you to destroy you when I smite the land of Egypt. [ I
Cor. 5:7; Heb. 11:28.]
Exo 12:14 And this day shall be to you for a memorial. You shall keep it as a
feast to the Lord throughout your generations, keep it as an ordinance forever.
Exo 11:4 And Moses said, Thus saith the LORD, About midnight will I go out into
the midst of Egypt:
Exo 11:5 And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn
of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the
maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts.
Exo 11:6 And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such
as there was none like it, nor shall be like it any more.
Exo 11:7 But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his
tongue, against man or beast: that ye may know how that the LORD doth put a
difference between the Egyptians and Israel.
Exo 12:29 And it came to pass, that at midnight the LORD
smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of
Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive
that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle.
No Blood no
Salvation, or
deliverence from
Judgement!
Exo 12:30 And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and
all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was
a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where
there was not one dead.
The Midnight Hour prophetically speaks of the End of the Age
It’s the darkest hour before the dawn of the new day.
Mat 25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the
bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
Every house which rejected the Blood of the Lamb was struck
with Death. Likewise those who choose to reject the Blood of
the Lamb will face God’s wrath at the End of the age.
Rev 6:16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us
from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of
the Lamb:
Rev 6:17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able
to stand?
Exo 12:31 And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise
up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children
of Israel; and go, serve the LORD, as ye have said.
Exo 12:32 Also take your flocks and your herds, as ye have said, and
be gone; and bless me also.
Exo 12:33 And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people, that they
might send them out of the land in haste; for they said, We be all dead
men.
15th Day of Nisan
Exo 12:34 And the people took their dough before it was leavened,

was not one feeble person among their tribes.
15th Day of Nisan
Exo 12:36 And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the
Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required.

15th Day of Nisan
Exo 12:37 And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to
Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, beside
children.
Exo 12:38 And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks,
and herds, even very much cattle.
Exo 12:39 And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they
brought forth out of Egypt, for it was not leavened; because they were
thrust out of Egypt, and could not tarry, neither had they prepared for
themselves any victual.
Psa 105:37 He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there
was not one feeble person among their tribes.

Theres Healing for
those who partake
of the Lamb
1Pe 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree,
that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose
stripes ye were healed.
Joh 6:53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily,
verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh
of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye
have no life in you.
Exo 12:14 And this day shall be to you for a memorial. You shall keep it as a
feast to the Lord throughout your generations, keep it as an ordinance forever.
Jesus instituted the Lord’s Supper to replace the Passover
forever.
1Co 5:7…. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.
Luk 22:17 After taking the cup, he gave thanks and said, "Take this and divide it
among you.
Luk 22:18 For I tell you I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until the
kingdom of God comes."
Luk 22:19 And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them,
saying, "This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me."
Luk 22:20 In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup
is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
Exo 12:14 And this day shall be to you for a memorial. You shall keep it as a
feast to the Lord throughout your generations, keep it as an ordinance forever.
1Co 11:23 For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord
Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread,
1Co 11:24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body,
which is for you; do this in remembrance of me."
1Co 11:25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is
the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance
of me."
1Co 11:26 For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the
Lord's death until he comes.
1Co 11:27 Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an
unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the
Lord.
Exo 12:14 And this day shall be to you for a memorial. You shall keep it as a
feast to the Lord throughout your generations, keep it as an ordinance forever.
1Co 11:28 A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and
drinks of the cup.
1Co 11:29 For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the
Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself.
1Co 11:30 That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you
have fallen asleep.
1Co 11:31 But if we judged ourselves, we would not come under judgment.
1Co 11:32 When we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we
will not be condemned with the world.
Exo 12:43 And the LORD said unto Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinance of
the passover: There shall no stranger eat thereof:
Exo 12:44 But every man's servant that is bought for money, when thou hast
circumcised him, then shall he eat thereof.
Exo 12:45 A foreigner and a hired servant shall not eat thereof.
No uncircumcised person can eat the Passover
Exo 12:48 And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the
passover to the LORD, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come
near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no
uncircumcised person shall eat thereof.
No uncircumcised person can eat the Passover
The New Testament shows that the person who is in the New Covenant
relationship with Christ is qualified then to partake of the Lord’s supper.
Gal 6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing,
nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.
Rom 2:28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that
circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
Rom 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is
that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not
of men, but of God.
