A YEAR FOR THE LORD!
Joshua 24:15 "And if it seems evil to you to serve
the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom
you will serve, whether the gods which your
fathers served that were on the other side of the
River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land
you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will
serve the LORD."
Prayer
Psalm 55:16 As for me, I will call upon God, And
the LORD shall save me. 17 Evening and morning
and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, And He
shall hear my voice.
Psalm 145:18 The LORD is near to all who call
upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth. 19
He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He
also will hear their cry and save them. 20 The
LORD preserves all who love Him, But all the
wicked He will destroy.
Luke 18:1 Then He spoke a parable to them, that
men always ought to pray and not lose heart, 2
saying: "There was in a certain city a judge who
did not fear God nor regard man. 3 "Now there
was a widow in that city; and she came to him,
saying, 'Get justice for me from my adversary.' 4
"And he would not for a while; but afterward he
said within himself, 'Though I do not fear God nor
regard man, 5 'yet because this widow troubles
me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming
she weary me.' " 6 Then the Lord said, "Hear
what the unjust judge said. 7 "And shall God not
avenge His own elect who cry out day and night
to Him, though He bears long with them?
Hebrews 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great
High Priest who has passed through the heavens,
Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our
confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest
who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but
was in all points tempted as we are, yet without
sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne
of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find
grace to help in time of need.
Philippians 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in
everything by prayer and supplication, with
thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to
God;
1 Thessalonians 5:17 pray without ceasing, 18 in
everything give thanks; for this is the will of God
in Christ Jesus for you.
Time spent in God’s Word
1 Timothy 4:8 For bodily exercise profits a little,
but godliness is profitable for all things, having
promise of the life that now is and of that which
is to come.
Job 23:12 I have not departed from the
commandment of His lips; I have treasured the
words of His mouth More than my necessary food.
Psalm 119:103 How sweet are Your words to my
taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth!
Psalm 119:127 Therefore I love Your
commandments More than gold, yes, than fine
gold!
Jeremiah 15:16 Your words were found, and I ate
them, And Your word was to me the joy and
rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your
name, O LORD God of hosts.
John 4:34 Jesus said to them, "My food is to do
the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His
work.
1 Peter 2:2 as newborn babes, desire the pure
milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel
of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation
for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and
also for the Greek.
James 1:21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and
overflow of wickedness, and receive with
meekness the implanted word, which is able to
save your souls. 22 But be doers of the word, and
not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by
inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine,
for reproof, for correction, for instruction in
righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be
complete, thoroughly equipped for every good
work.
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved
unto God, a workman that needeth not to be
ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your
hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to
everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that
is in you, with meekness and fear; 16 having a
good conscience, that when they defame you as
evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in
Christ may be ashamed.
Daily Bible reading is essential to spiritual
growth. There are 929 chapters in the O.T. and
260 chapters in the N.T. If a person reads 10
chapters per day he or she could read the entire
Bible 3 times in one year. If a person read 5
chapters per day he or she could read the O.T.
once and the N.T. 3 times in a year.
Matthew 21 = 46 verses
I read it in 2 min and 23 seconds
If you can read as fast as me it would take about
11 min to read 5 chapters and 22 min for 10
chapters.
I read it out loud word for word in 4 min and 50
seconds.
If you are a slower reader, it will take you
approximately 22 min to read 5 chapters and 45
min to read 10 chapters.
It only takes 11 to 22 min to read 5 chapters per
day or 22 min to 45 min to read 10 chapters
today.
Even if a slow reader only spends 15 min a day
reading his Bible, he would be able to read the
entire Bible through in one year.
Assembling with the saints
Matthew 6:24 " No one can serve two masters;
for either he will hate the one and love the other,
or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the
other.
Acts 2:46 So continuing daily with one accord in
the temple, and breaking bread from house to
house, they ate their food with gladness and
simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having
favor with all the people. And the Lord added to
the church daily those who were being saved.
Acts 5:42 And daily in the temple, and in every
house, they did not cease teaching and preaching
Jesus as the Christ.
Matthew 6:33 "But seek first the kingdom of God
and His righteousness, and all these things shall
be added to you.
Hebrews 10:24 And let us consider one another in
order to stir up love and good works, 25 not
forsaking the assembling of ourselves together,
as is the manner of some, but exhorting one
another, and so much the more as you see the
Day approaching.
Hebrews 2:1 Therefore we must give the more
earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we
drift away.
A YEAR FOR THE LORD!
Evangelism
This year, I am going to invite ________ friends,
________ family members, and _______
strangers to our services.
2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before
the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may
receive the things done in the body, according to
what he has done, whether good or bad.
11 Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we
persuade men;
Matthew 5:46 "For if you love those who love
you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax
collectors do the same? 47 "And if you greet your
brethren only, what do you do more than others?
Do not even the tax collectors do so?
Giving
1 Corinthians 16:2 On the first day of the week let
each one of you lay something aside, storing up
as he may prosper, that there be no collections
when I come.
2 Corinthians 9:6 But this I say: He who sows
sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who
sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 So
let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not
grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a
cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all
grace abound toward you, that you, always
having all sufficiency in all things, may have an
abundance for every good work. 9 As it is
written: "He has dispersed abroad, He has given
to the poor; His righteousness endures forever."
Matthew 20:27"And whoever desires to be first
among you, let him be your slave -- 28 "just as
the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to
serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.“
Galatians 5:13 For you, brethren, have been
called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an
opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve
one another.
John 13:34 "A new commandment I give to you,
that you love one another; as I have loved you,
that you also love one another. 35 "By this all
will know that you are My disciples, if you have
love for one another."
1 Timothy 3:13 For those who have served well as
deacons obtain for themselves a good standing
and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ
Jesus.
Hebrews 13:17 Obey those who rule over you,
and be submissive, for they watch out for your
souls, as those who must give account. Let them
do so with joy and not with grief, for that would
be unprofitable for you.
1 Timothy 4:12 Let no one despise your youth,
but be an example to the believers in word, in
conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
Ephesians 5:22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as
to the Lord. 23 For the husband is head of the wife, as
also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of
the body. 24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to
Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in
everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ
also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that
He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of
water by the word, 27 that He might present her to
Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or
any such thing, but that she should be holy and without
blemish.
28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as
their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves
himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh,
but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord
does the church. 30 For we are members of His
body, of His flesh and of His bones. 31 "For this
reason a man shall leave his father and mother
and be joined to his wife, and the two shall
become one flesh."
Ephesians 6:1 Children, obey your parents in the
Lord, for this is right. 2 "Honor your father and
mother," which is the first commandment with
promise: 3 "that it may be well with you and you
may live long on the earth."
