1. Wissenschaftliche Relevanz und
aktueller Forschungsstand
• Aufschwung der Beziehungsforschung innerhalb der letzten
Jahrzehnte, aber hauptsächliche Konzentration auf:
- heterosexuelle, monogame Paarbeziehungen
- den amerikanischen Raum
• Ausnahmen:
- „Friends with benefits“ (Afifi & Faulkner, 2000; Vanderdrift,
Lehmiller & Kelly, 2012)
- Zusammenhänge von nicht-monogamen Verhaltensweisen
und Risiken (STD, HIV etc.) (vgl. Paik, 2010)
- Nicht-Monogamie unter dem Aspekt von Untreue (Mark,
Janssen & Milhausen, 2011) oder homosexueller
Beziehungen (Pawlicki & Larson, 2010)

• Bindungstheorie (Bowlby, 1969) als
fruchtbares Konstrukt zur Erforschung von
romantischer Beziehungen erstmals von
Hazan & Shaver (1987) angewandt
• Forschungslücke: Erfassen alternativer
Beziehungsstile unter Berücksichtigung des
vorherrschenden Bindungsstils
-> könnte mehr Aufschluss darüber geben wie
Personen ihre Beziehungen gestalten
-> und wie sie sich in den jeweiligen
Beziehungen fühlen

2. Ziel der Forschung und Methoden
• Ziel: Berücksichtigung eines breiten Spektrums an
Beziehungsformen um Aufschluss über die emotionalen und
einstellungsbezogenen Prozesse von Personen in Hinblick auf
ihren Beziehungsstil zu erhalten
• Forschungsfragen:
RQ 1: Is the prevailing attachment style of a person related to his/her
a) actual or most recent relationship formation?
b) relationship formations in the past?
c) favorite relationship formation?
RQ 2: Is the prevailing attachment style of a person related to his/her
feelings and attitudes towards a specific (romantic/sexual/casual)
relationship constellation?

• Methoden:
- Selbstadministrierter Fragebogen auf Deutsch
und Englisch
- Rekrutierung der Probanden in diversen InternetBeziehungsforen (z.B. polyamory.com,
polyamore.de, beziehungs-kiste.net)
- Online-Fragebogen
- Auswertung mittels SPSS-Software: ANOVA, chi²Test, Cramers Phi
- Statistische Kontrolle von
Kovariaten/Störvariablen wie Alter, Geschlecht,
Herkunftsland (ANCOVA, Partialkorrelation)

3. Einschränkungen und mögliche
Probleme
• Es ist nicht Ziel eine repräsentative Umfrage
über die tatsächliche Häufigkeit von
alternative Beziehungsformen zu machen
• Selbstselektionsbias und Einseitigkeit der
Daten
• Internetprobanden unterscheiden sich von
anderen Stichproben (Del Giudice, 2011)
-> eher schwache externe Validität
