the population is immigrant or descendant of immigrants, being
mostly from Portuguese speaking countries.

5.1 Active participation of local schools in initiatives of
intercultural promotion, including "Migrant Community
Day" (April 26th).
5.2 Encouraging and supporting the creation of
interculturalism promotion actions in schools.

5.3 Organizing workshops of traditional multicultural



stories or other similar workshops.
5.4 Preparing briefcases with multicultural pedagogical
content to provide to schools.

Participation of School community in local initiatives
promoting intercultural dialogue, or supporting intercultural
initiatives in schools.
Providing intercultural training that enables local educators
in the areas of intercultural communication, cooperation and
diversity management in schools.
Supporting the creation of partnerships / student exchanges.
Promoting and creating moments of school exchange (video
conferences, …)

Exhibiting works made by students about migration,
intercultural dialogue and MDGs - Millennium Development
Goals.
Supporting and monitoring projects of intercultural dialogue
promotion in schools, with the involvement of local
immigrant associations.

Public Institutions.
Promoting awareness through campaigns and community
mobilization.
