About Me

• I was born in Bahrain, raised and educated in Dubai, graduated from India and worked in Mumbai, Dubai, Cairo, Dhaka and now Kinshasa.

• This is my second year teaching at TASOK and I am loving it. I live on-campus with my wife, Poonam Kapoor , who is also the kindergarten teacher here, as well as our 2 kids- Anand and Deep.

My role here at TASOK

• Motivate and engage students in Math concepts and problem solving. • Help students to explore the magic of numbers • Create a supportive and safe learning environment for students and provide the opportunity to explore fearlessly new and sometimes difficult concepts. • Make Math fun and exciting.

My Expectations for Homework

• Homework is always posted on the blog and related to the current unit of study.

• Homework must be submitted on time. • Homework completion and submission reflects on learning habits. • IXL helps differentiation and is expected to be done everyday. I recommend students practicing at least 30 questions daily on assigned topics.

What your child should do after an absence?

Inquire about distributed worksheets and missed homework assignments.

Refer the blog Copy notes from a classmate.

Arrange make up for missed assessments.

Ask questions.

Grading Assessments

• A continuous assessment model where Module assessments, Unit assessments and terminal assessments blend. • Project assignments help determine students overall understanding and application skills and helps verify the achievement levels • Most recent achievements are emphasized.

• Learning habits are separated from Academic achievement.
