Iphone, as well as it’s ability to show what
you’re doing clearly while having plenty of
options and graphical frills.
The accelerometer (fancy name for motion
sensor) senses when the Iphone is moved
around or rotated, allowing programs like
calculator to turn scientific when rotated
and videos to go widescreen.
Ipod and Coverflow
If you rotate the
Iphone while in the
Ipod feature, you
can access cover
flow (right) which
allows you to browse
your music by
album art. Also, it
comes supplied with
headphones to
listen to your music
privately.
Sensors, buttons and sockets
Ambient light sensor allows
Iphone to adjust screen
brightness when it’s dark
and increase it when it’s
light.
The built in accelerometer notices the
motion made when moving a phone
up to your ear, and automatically
switches off the display to prevent
accidental button presses. It also
makes the Iphone a games controller
and allows it to use Coverflow and
other widescreen apps.
