2. What God says about Alcohol
3.Why God informs us.

Slide 4

The Bible Says the Use of Drugs is
Sorcery.

Immorality, … Idolatry and SORCERY,
Outbursts of Anger, Drunkenness,…
Those Who Practice Such Things Will
NOT Inherit the Kingdom of God.

(Gal 5:19-21 NKJV)

Slide 5

SORCERY = “Pharmakeia”
= Pharmacy = Drugs

Slide 6

Sorcery IS :

Using Drugs to Manipulate
your Emotions,
Thoughts,

or Perceptions.
Sorcery and Idolatry are related.

Slide 7

Sorcery is Used in Idolatry.
God hates both.
Disobedience is as bad as the sin of
Sorcery.
Pride is as bad as the Sin of worshiping
idols.
You have Rejected the Lord's Command.

Now He rejects you as king. 1 Samuel 15:23 NCV
(CAPITALS ADDED)

What is Idolatry?

Slide 8

Idolatry IS
Depending on
Any Person,
Any Image
Any Habit
Any Thing

More Than The Lord God Almighty
To Bring You Pleasure and
Identity Confirmation

Slide 9

"I am the LORD your God,
Who brought you out of Egypt,
out of the land of slavery.
You shall have no other gods before Me.”
Exodus 20:2-3
Idols may be: Music, Magazines, TV,
Movies, Gossip, Video Games, Cigarettes,
your own pride and arrogance, etc….
So If The Son Sets You Free, You Will Be Free
Indeed. John 8:36

Slide 10

God Says A Lot About Alcohol.

Slide 11

Do not gaze at wine when it is red…
…It Bites like a Snake and
…Poisons like a Viper.
…See Strange Sights
…Imagine Confusing Things.

"They hit me," you will say, "but I'm not hurt!
When will I wake up so I can find another
drink?"
Proverbs 23:31-35
Sounds like a hangover??? Or Alcoholism?

Slide 12

Wine is a Mocker and
Beer a Brawler;

Whoever is Led Astray by Them
Is Not Wise. (Proverbs 20:1)

Slide 13

What about our
Culture?
What about living
in a Christian Bubble?
What about Hypocrisy?
What about
My Own Life and
Living It the
Way I Want To??

Slide 14

Christian Culture …
… Is Just Behavior and Patterns
Lived on the Outside.
It does not necessarily reflect the

Internal Heart that only God sees.
(1 Samuel 16:7, Ps 51)

Slide 15

What about living in a Christian Bubble?
The True Bubble is Formed by
True Christians wherever they are.
For we are to God the aroma of Christ
among those who are being saved and
those who are perishing.
To the one we are the smell of death;
to the other, the fragrance of life.
Corinthians 2:14-16

Slide 16

The True Bubble
is only as Strong
as Those Who Live IN Relationship

with the Lord Jesus Christ
by His Word and Holy Spirit.
John 15:5

Slide 17

What about hypocrisy?
IT STINKS!!
Every body hates it.

NO body likes it.
Even the Hypocrite!

Hypocrisy is Lying With Your Life.
Not Being Aware of Your Sin may mean you

are Not Aware of Your Hypocrisy.

Self Delusion is a Killer.

Slide 18

How long, O men, will you turn
My Glory into shame ?
How long will you love delusions
and seek false gods ?
Psalm 4:2, Romans 1:18-32

Slide 19

What about My Own Life and
Living It the Way I Want To??

Whose life is it?
Choices – Consequences:
A.You belong to your father, the devil, and you
want to carry out your father's desire. … Not
holding to the truth, … For he is a liar and the
father of lies. John 8:44
B. The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that
we are God's children. For you have been born
again, not of perishable seed, but of
imperishable, through the Living and Enduring
Word of God. Romans 8:16, 1 Peter 1:23

Slide 20

IF you were bought with a price,
then your life is not your own.
“You were bought at a price.
Therefore honor God with your body.”
1 Corinthians 6:20

Slide 21

If God Did NOT change your heart,

and you Do NOT honor Him with
your life,
then Choose
With your heart and life today!
Psalm 51:10, Ezekiel 11:19-20, Ezekiel 36:25-27,
John 3:3

Slide 22

Regarding True Christians
Christians are not perfect people.
They Never Will Be While Here. Heb 12:2, Phil 1:6, Jn 16:33

What makes Christians different?
•Christians are forgiven for personal sin by the
Blood of the Atoning Lamb, Jesus the Christ.
•Christians are saved from eternal Hell
damnation, from the Wrath of God. Romans 5:9-11
•Christians trust Jesus and choose to live with
and for Him in Gratitude. 1 John 4:10

Slide 23

•Christians are set free from the law of sin and
death. Romans 8:2
•Christians have a Power Source of Joy, Hope,
Wisdom, and Strength that Never diminishes.Gal 5
•Christians have a Protector, Teacher,
Intercessor, Intimate Friend, and Living God
Who continually loves, laughs, & cries with us.
He delights in us as we trust Him and His Word
ever more.
•Christians have problems, trials, & troubles and
they are never abandoned. Deut 31:8
•Christians’ lives are directionally growing to
Christ-likeness. Romans 12

Slide 24

We’ve learned a lot about why God hates
drugs.

Drugs is Sorcery and Connects the user
with Idolatry. It enables you to be
deceived.
God says Alcohol has you “Imagine
Confusing Things” and “leads you Astray
From God”.
Now for the Question -?Why does God inform us?

Slide 25

Why does God inform us?
For Four Good Reasons –

Let’s state the first obvious one:

Shout Out Loud!!

1– Because Jesus Loves Me!!

Slide 26

Here are Three Obscure Ones:
#1 God wants a Relationship with you
based upon Who He is and
Not on your Works or Escapes.
Rom 3:22; Rom 8, 1 Corinthians 1:30

"Come to Me, ALL you who are weary
and burdened, and
I WILL give you rest. …
Learn from Me … and you will find
REST for your Souls.” Matt 11:28-30
(Capitals added)

Slide 27

#2 God does Not want you to go to Hell
(2 Peter 3:9, Matthew 25:41)

The Lord is not slow in keeping his
promise … He is patient with you, not
wanting anyone to perish, but
everyone to come to repentance.
Repent!>

… throw them into the fiery
furnace, where there will be weeping and
gnashing of teeth. … they will be thrust
into utter darkness. Matthew 13:42 , Isaiah 8:22

.

Slide 28

#3- God wants an Intimate Friendship
of Love with you AND to be Your
LORD.
"As the Father has loved Me, so have I
loved you. Now remain in My Love. If you
obey My commands, you will remain in My
Love…” John 15:9,10

This is love for God: to obey His
commands. And His commands are NOT
burdensome, 1 John 5:3 (capitals added)

Slide 29

How do we do this?
By this pattern of Relationship –
A. If we confess our sins, He is faithful
and just and will forgive us our sins and
purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John
1:9

B. Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he
will obey My teaching. My Father will
love him, and We will come to him and
make our home with him. John 14: 23

Slide 30

C. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads
to debauchery. Instead, be filled with

the Spirit.

Ephesians 5:18

He who believes in Me [who cleaves to
and trusts in and relies on Me] …

From his innermost being shall
flow [continuously] springs and rivers
of living water. John 7:38 AMP

Slide 31

Take God’s Word to YOUR heart
and you will be blessed.
(Deuteronomy 28)

We demolish arguments and
every pretension that sets itself
up against the knowledge of God,
and

we take captive every thought
to make it obedient to Christ.
2 Corinthians 10:5

Slide 32

The Wise in Heart accept commands, but
a chattering fool comes to ruin. Proverbs 3:35,
Proverbs 10:8

The way of a Fool seems right to him
but a Wise man listens to advice.
Proverbs 12:15

A Wise man fears the LORD and
shuns evil,
but a Fool is hotheaded and reckless.
Proverbs 14:16

Slide 33

Trust in the LORD with all your
heart and lean not on your own
understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge
Him (the Lord Jesus Christ),
and He will make your paths
straight. Proverbs 3:5,6 (Jesus’ Name added)
