He is a McNair Scholar and was involved in the Global Media
Initiative, a cohort of young journalists who visited France and the
United Kingdom to cover the state of their economies in early
2009. Andrew devotes himself to serving underrepresented
communities.

For the past five years he has been a dance instructor,
choreographer of musicals, and occasional rehearsal and
performance pianist at a racially diverse performing arts magnet
high school in San Jose
His educational goal is to receive a Ph.D. in Performance Studies
and examine the performance of gender, as well as queer issues in
performance. More specifically, to research how dance and musical
theatre performance can have an impact on nontraditional and
marginalized audiences.
In his spare time, he enjoys dancing ballet, playing jazz piano and
singing.
