• Recruit quality teachers for America’s schools,
with priority to schools serving low-income
families
• Help relieve teacher shortages, primarily in
Math, Science, Special Ed, and VocationalTechnical, but recruit all.
• Assist military personnel/veterans in moving
to careers in K-12, public school

• Stipend: Up to $5,000 to assist with teacher
certification costs. Must teach in school district serving
students from disadvantaged families.
• Current teachers may use to add endorsements
in critical needs subjects
• Bonus: $10,000 for new* participants who teach in
schools that are defined as “high-need” schools.
• Both require 3-year teaching commitment.
• Maximum received can not exceed $10,000.
*Exception for deployed teachers

the Selected Reserve for 3 years on or after 8 Jan 02
• Current teachers may be eligible for the 10K bonus
when they return to teaching after a deployment

come from families with income below the poverty level.

B. A School where 50%+ of students are eligible for free or
