This training meets DEL requirements for the annual STARS
training that is required for child care providers in
Washington State.
The Traditional Washington STARS training is entry level
training that earns a level 1 or 2 on the STARS professional
development ladder.
When you are ready to move on to level 3 or above, we
recommend our online In-Service or CDA training to
support your continued professional development.

PASSING THE ONLINE STARS TRAINING
IN ORDER TO PASS THIS TRAINING, THIS IS WHAT YOU MUST DO:
1. Read course materials provided in the lessons
2. Sufficiently complete all chapter assignments
3. Participate in Student Forum Discussion Board Assignments
4. Submit an evaluation form with a valid STARS ID number

reading the lessons.

you have trouble with the video loading.

There are 3 to 6 chapters in each course. There is 1
assignment at the end of each chapter. The assignments are
automated, and you will receive immediate feedback, and
opportunities to review the information and to change your
responses.
The assignments are intended to help you learn the materials,
and gain an understanding of the concepts covered in the
training.
Successful completion of the training will require that you
obtain 80% or better on all assignments.

There are several reasons why chat is the most effective way
to get help.

Student support staff are able to assist several students at
one time. Which means that you can get the fastest
support.

When you type in your name and email address it allows
us to quickly view your student records.

The chat transcript is recorded in
your student records so that in the
future we can easily see the record
of support.

When you are on chat, we can see the exact page that
you are on in the training. This allows us to easily identify
where you are in the course, and direct you to solutions.

If we are away from the computer or offline and you leave
a message, the person on-call for student support receives
an email notification on their cell phone and will reply as
quickly as possible.

Live Student Support hours are 8 am until 9 pm, 7 days a week.
However, keep in mind that if we are on the phone or step
away for a break that we may appear offline. Type your
message anyway, we will send you an email reply as soon as
possible.

Can I access any of the courses?

As an enrolled student, you have access to ALL of the
courses listed on the menu.

Scroll down and click on the course title to access your
selected course.

You will ONLY receive a certificate and
STARS credit for the number of hours of
training that you have paid for.

What if I paid for 4 hours, but complete 6
hours?

If you complete more hours of training than you have
paid for, then you will be sent an email invoice to process
payment for the tuition due.

Once the payment is received, we will
email a certificate to you for the
additional hours.

I enrolled in a course, but I changed my
mind and I want to do a different course.

Feel free to select whichever courses that
interest you at this time.

If you complete courses other than those that
you selected during enrollment, you may wish
to request a correct receipt to reflect the
actual courses that you complete.

The STARS Scholarship program requires that the
receipt lists the same courses that are shown on your
certificate.

What if I prefer more accountability;
something more challenging?

For a higher technology training platform, and
more student accountability, you may wish to
consider In-Service STARS courses.

If you enroll in Traditional Washington STARS, and decide
you want more accountability, we will be happy to
transfer your payment credit to In-Service STARS training.

