Program vs. Activities
Programs are a set of ongoing actions that meets a need and
makes an impact on the population served. It is a written plan
that includes reasonable and long-term and short-term
objectives with measurable outcomes. Outcomes are benefits
or changes for individuals or populations during or after
participating in a program. Outcomes may relate to behavior,
skills, knowledge, attitude, values, condition, or other
attributes.
An activity is something that is usually done for pleasure,
entertainment, or extracurricular, i.e., bingo, cards, manicures,
shopping, greeting cards, etc. All of these things are
necessary to include as a supplement to your program, but
does not by itself a program make.
Types of Programs
Total program is one where all programming is
implemented at one entity/facility.
Standalone program is one where programs are
implemented at different entities/facilities.
