East and West Berlin
Like the Iron curtain, the city of Berlin was divided
into two halves the east communist and the west
capitalist.
To make sure people in east Berlin did not try to go
to west Berlin the communist government made the
Berlin wall to divide the two parts.
At one point during the cold war west Berlin had a
blockade around it to prevent all goods from entering
it. After the capitalist side found out the started the
Berlin airlift and sent in good and supplies by plane.
