BY FAITH SAMUEL

1 Samuel 3:7 “Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord, not was the word of the Lord yet revealed to him.”

“Speak Lord, for your servant hears.”

1 Samuel 3:1, “Now the boy Samuel ministered to the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord was rare in those days; there was no widespread revelation.”

1 Samuel 2:35 God says He will raise up a faithful priest who will do according to what is in His heart and in His mind.

Wouldn’t it be great if we could talk to him and ask him how he did it?

1 Samuel 12:24 “But be sure to fear the LORD and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you.”

LESSONS FOR US:

1. Fear the Lord. To fear the Lord means to stand in awe of the holiness of your God.

When we understand that we are in the presence of a holy God, the natural response is repentance of sin.

And repentance of sin brings removes arrogance and brings humility, which leads to dependence upon God.

He won’t only work in us, but He will also begin to work through us.

2. Serve the Lord

Questions about serving Him: -How do we know what He is doing in our world? -How can we serve the Lord?

-How do we know what His will is for our life?

3. Praise the Lord.

Psalm 111:10, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.”

Fear the Lord. Serve the Lord Praise the Lord.
