Now let´s do it together:
• In November 2011 a project called “Mobile
Learning“ was started at Peter-Pan-School: 12 Ipads were given to form 4a and their teacher, Peter
Klauke. Since then, in cooperation with the district
of Coesfeld´s multimedia centre Peter accompanies
the use of I-pads in different primary school classes.
• In December 2011 an adequate basic fund of
learning-apps was available. Now the students were
allowed to make their individual choices and
arrange the apps they liked on their I-pads. They
could choose from the following assortment:
• Pages (professional text processing)
• Kindle (reading-app by Amazon which
allows the free charge of reading
classical children´s books)
• Schneller Lesen (= Reading Faster)
• Lesejagd (= Reading Pursuit)
• Calculator X (a pocket calculator)
• 2x2=4 (times tables trainer)
• MatheBoard (= maths board: The green
Teacher´s board on your ipad to exercise
written calculation methods)

Color Uncovered (fascinating games/photos
with colours)
• Fotopedia (brilliant photos from all parts of
the world)
• World Explore (like Fotopedia, but also with
specialist texts)
• Hangman (vocabulary trainer with words
arranged according to subject areas)
• How To Draw
• Junior Artist
• Drawing Free

painting)
• Garage Band
(legendary: The band to take home – or to school)
• iGlockenspiel (iChimes, for your first scale
experiments)
• Lernerfolg GS (= Successful Learning In The Primary
School; standard-app: German, Maths, English in
forms 3 and 4)
• Didakto (Questions from many domains, different
levels)
• During the adaptation of
SocialStudies-and-Science-topics the benefit in the
use of I-pads became especially obvious,
e.g. in the unit “Our Solar System”.
• After getting an overview of the different
planets with the help of special apps the
students were able to create an impressive
profile with only a few clicks by using the
“Pages”-app, a simple to handle mixture of a
text processing- and a presentation program.
• Students from class 2-4 join the computer
club once a week.
• The club meets in a classroom that is
equiped with seven computers, one printer
and a smartboard.
• The main topic is how to use the computer in
the right way and for what purposes we can
use it.
The students are taught :
• the main technical terms
• how to use keyboard and mouse
• how to use different programmes such
as Word, Excel, Paint, Power Point
• how to copy and paste pictures
• how to use the internet, especially
search engines, to get special
information
At the end of the term the students receive
a „computer certificate“.
