ABU DHABI FALCON
HOSPITAL
Prepared by Omnia Cheniour - CM2B
History
• Falconry is an integral part of desert life which
has been practiced in the UAE for centuries.
• Originally, falcons were used for hunting, to
supplement the Bedouin diet with some meat.
• They also have used falcons for hunting game
and sporting activities.
• However, their numbers in the wild have
declined in recent years, as a result from over
trapping.
Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital
• The Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital (ADFH) is
providing veterinary health care services
exclusively for falcons.
• Launched on 3rd October 1999, ADFH has
become the largest falcon hospital in the UAE
