Urban Technologies & Strategies of
urban agglomerations in the Danube Region
• Fostering agglomerations cooperation and networks for
common benefit
• Establishment of a know-how transfer and knowledge
exchange network
• Focus on green technologies (water, waste, energy, city
development, mobility etc.) which contribute to quality of
life, environment protection and also economic prosperity
• Development of a contact and information point
• Concrete cooperation projects, workshops, symposia and a
web-based database.

Programme to raise the economic
power of the Danube cities

The objective was to establish a
network of Danube cities to support
prosperity in the cities and their
surrounding regions
•
Result was a network of more than
20 Danube cities
Network Members:
Nürnberg, Regensburg, Deggendorf, Passau, Linz, Wien, Schwechat, Györ, Budapest,
Mohacs, Visegrad, Vukovar, Novi Sad, Petrovaradin, Sremski Karlovci, Dobreta Turnu
Severin, Bucarest, Giurgiu, Cernavoda, Galati, Constantza, Svishtov, Rousse, Odessa
DonauHanse® Destination Danube
DoHa DD, invited to the 2. Step 2. Call Southeast Europe Program, aims to:
•
Utilise the cities and their cultural potential (Cultural Corridor Danube) for
sustainable cultural tourism
•
Develop plans to conserve cultural heritage buildings, an integrated
Tourism Information & Guidance Systems (TIGS) & its access
infrastructure, the Cultural Corridor Danube GIS map
•
Coordinate the developed plans with local and regional development plans
•
Implement TIGS pilots
•
Prepare investments to conserve cultural heritage objects
•
Support a common marketing image of the Destination Danube
•
Partner cities of DonauHanse® can use the results for free or request a
DonauHanse® workshop to support implementing them
CUPA - Co-operative Urban Planning Approaches
•
Project inside the DonauHanse® Network
•
The aim of CUPA is to discuss specific urban planning problems, analyze
them and develop appropriate solutions
•
Workshops have a standardized structure (3 days workshop,
approximately 25 participants, 50% local experts 50% partner cities)
•
First WS in Bratislava 20. – 22. September 2010
