Celia’s Callitris Collecting Trips
The trips undertaken were as
follows:
Undergraduate student
Celia Symonds
undertook a number of
small collecting trips to
sample as many Callitris
species as possible for
the Orthotyline Mirids
found on this host plant.
Callitris is in the plant
family Cupressaceae,
which has a
relictual distribution in
the southern
hemisphere.
Callitris is also found in
New Caledonia.

Callitris macleayana
one callitroid Orthotylus species
was found on this endangered
Callitris bayleyi
the only rainforest species,
only juvenile trees growing on the
forest edge were able to
be reached,
Coffs Harbour
Callitris oblonga - Northern NSW
This endangered Callitris species is a small shrub with only three
populations remaining and only found in NSW.
No Orthotylus species were found on this Callitris species.
