How does it work?
A special magnet assembly is simply inserted into the piston head, as the piston is moved by the hydraulic fluid, the externally fitted linear transducer measures the piston stroke.
How Is It Installed?
1. The piston head has a simple slot milled next to the seals/wear rings
2. The magnet assembly is placed in the slot
3. The cylinder is then assembled as normal
4. The linear transducer(s) is mounted to simple welded brackets pre-installed on the cylinder and retained by set screw etc
5. The transducer is connected electrically and automatically reads the piston stroke position
Sensor Attributes
The ELA external linear transducer is based on rota’s well proven extremely compact Internal cylinder sensor; using hall
effect technology with the following features:

• Ruggedised design for extreme environments
• Solid state electronics
• Proven pedigree in high shock and vibration applications
• Absolute signal
• Digital and analog outputs
• 5-12, 9-32 Volt supply
• High temperature rating
• Long stroke length
• I.P. 67 rating
Magnet Attributes
The ELA permanent magnet assembly is suitable for operating temperatures of –40o to 120oc (-40o to 250of) and hydraulic pressures of 600 bar (9000 psi)
