THE EVENT - L’EVENEMENT The Evian Championship
The only Major Course in Continental Europe celebrates its 20th anniversary. The
tournament has crowned the greatest golfers on the planet. The Evian Championship
made its debut last year in the closed circuit of five Major tournaments of the
women's world tour.

l’année dernière dans le circuit très fermé des cinq tournois Majeurs du tour féminin
mondial.

The fifth and final Major, The Evian Championship has a strategic position at the end
of the season, for the best golfers in the world. For the first time ever, the LPGA
(American Tour) in association with Rolex and 10-time Major champion Annika
Sorenstam will crown the most successful player across all the Majors. After 4 Majors
and before the start of The Evian, Michelle Wie is in the lead. Currently out of action,
the American Michelle Wie is expected to make her return at The Evian. The suspense
continues today as eight players can still win the first ever Rolex Trophy Annika Major
Award. All will be decided during the last Major at Evian. The ceremony will be held
Saturday, September 13 on site.
Cinquième et ultime Majeur, The Evian Championship détient une position stratégique,
en fin de saison, pour l’ensemble des plus grandes golfeuses du monde. Pour la
première fois, la LPGA (Tour américain) en association avec Rolex et Annika Sorenstam,
vainqueur de 10 tournois majeurs, couronnera la joueuse la plus performante sur
l’ensemble des Majeurs. Après 4 Majeurs et avant The Evian, l’Américaine Michelle Wie
est en tête. Actuellement blessée, Michelle Wie devrait faire son retour à Evian. Le
suspens demeure car aujourd’hui 8 joueuses peuvent encore décrocher le Trophée du
premier Rolex Annika Major Award. Tout se jouera donc sur le dernier Majeur à Evian.
La cérémonie se tiendra le samedi 13 septembre à Evian.
VENUE – LIEU
The Evian Resort Golf Club - Evian – France - Par 71 – 6 453 yards (5 900 meters)
Redesigned in 2013 by a team of international architects, the course has a strong
signature between lake and mountains with particularly difficult and well defended
greens. After one year, the 18-hole course has indeed matured.
Training for the players takes place at the Academy, a few minutes from the golf
course.
Redesigné en 2013 par une équipe d’architectes internationaux, le parcours possède
une signature forte entre lac et montagnes avec en particulier des greens tourmentés et
bien défendus. Après un an, ce 18 trous a gagné en maturité.
L’entrainement des joueuses se fait sur les infrastructures de l’Academy, à quelque
minutes du golf.

will be decided by 2nd September.
