Summary
• Population continues to grow quickly though growth is
geographically unequal.
• Population growth is being driven by Hispanic population.
• The future Texas labor force will be largely Hispanic.
• Hispanics tend to have lower levels of educational attainment
than other groups.
• Geographic distribution of industries and occupations is
variable.
• Demographic and infrastructure challenges may have serious
implications for future Texas economy.
