The Bible is a book no one can
ignore.
It claims to be the Word of God, a
revelation from the Almighty
Creator, the Key to the mysteries
of the Universe, the Owner’s
Manual to guide our lives.
By following it – we please God
and be rewarded with eternal life
with Him,
By rejecting it we condemn
ourselves to eternal
condemnation.
We are not going to appeal
to the judgment of a
renowned scholar, nor a
great historian, nor an
author of volumes or of any
written text outside the NT.
We will only appeal to the
most well-known and
greatest person who ever
lived on this earth.
Jesus Christ the Son of God!
Matthew 4:4 (NKJV)
4 But He answered and
said, "It is written, 'Man
shall not live by bread
alone, but by every word
that proceeds from the
mouth of God.' "
Quote from Deut. 8:3
Matthew 15:3-4 (NKJV)
3 He answered and said to them,
"Why do you also transgress the
commandment of God because
of your tradition? 4 For God
commanded, saying, 'Honor your
father and your mother'; and, 'He
who curses father or mother, let
him be put to death.‘
Exodus 20:12; 21:17
Matthew 5:17-18 (NKJV)
17 "Do not think that I came to
destroy the Law or the Prophets.
I did not come to destroy but to
fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to
you, till heaven and earth pass
away, one jot or one tittle will by
no means pass from the law till
all is fulfilled.
One jot - is the name of the
Hebrew letter I, the smallest
letter in the Hebrew alphabet.
 One tittle - The Hebrew letters
were written with small points or
apices, (as in the letter Shin ‫ ׁש‬or
Sin - ‫)ׂש‬
Jesus considered the scriptures
inspired down even to the
smallest “jot” and the “tittle.”
Matthew 22:29-32 (NKJV)
29 Jesus answered and said to them,
"You are mistaken, not knowing the
Scriptures nor the power of God. 30
For in the resurrection they neither
marry nor are given in marriage,
but are like angels of God in
heaven. 31 But concerning the
resurrection of the dead, have you
not read what was spoken to you
by God, saying,
Matthew 22:29-32 (NKJV)
32 'I
am the God of Abraham,
the God of Isaac, and the
God of Jacob'? God is not
the God of the dead, but of
the living.“
“I AM – Not I WAS - Jesus taught
even the tense of the words used
in the scriptures is from God.
Many want their Bible like
their religion - “cafeteria
style.”
Far too many want to pick
and choose what they want in
the Bible and leave the rest.
Many people claim to accept
Jesus, but reject the Bible –
The account of creation is
true – Mt. 19:4-6
The account of Abel’s death is
true – Mt. 23:35
The account of Noah & the
flood is true - Mt. 24:36-39
Moses as Law giver Jn. 5:46; 7:19
Jonah & the great fish - Mt.
12:38-41
Jesus referred to almost every
period of history recorded in
the OT:
 Creation, marriage, Abel, Noah
and the flood, Sodom &
Gomorrah, Abraham, burning
bush, manna, the brazen
serpent, David, Solomon, the
ministry of Elijah and Elisha, the
trip and preaching of Jonah and
the martyrdom of Zechariah.
Luke 24:25-27 (NKJV)
25 Then He said to them, "O foolish
ones, and slow of heart to believe
in all that the prophets have
spoken! 26 Ought not the Christ to
have suffered these things and to
enter into His glory?" 27 And
beginning at Moses and all the
Prophets, He expounded to them
in all the Scriptures the things
concerning Himself.
Luke 24:44-46 (NKJV)
44 . . . "These are the words which I
spoke to you while I was still with you,
that all things must be fulfilled which
were written in the Law of Moses and
the Prophets and the Psalms concerning
Me." 45 And He opened their
understanding, that they might
comprehend the Scriptures. 46 Then He
said to them, "Thus it is written, and
thus it was necessary for the Christ to
suffer and to rise from the dead the
third day,
Jesus referred to the Scriptures
as the final authority, the
infallible standard against which
there was no appeal.
 The question of Jesus’ disciples
breaking the Sabbath – “Have you
not read . . .” - Mat 12:1-7
 The question on how a Jew could
gain eternal life – “What is written
in the Law?” - Luke 10:25-28
Jesus referred to the Scriptures
as the final authority, the
infallible standard against which
there was no appeal.
 The question of divorce – “Have you
not read” - Mt 19:3-9; Ge 1:27; 2:4
 The question of the resurrection –
(they erred not knowing the
scriptures; what they read in the
scriptures was the words of God) Mt. 22:23-33
All to be followed as given:
Matthew 23:23 (NKJV)
23 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees,
hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint
and anise and cummin, and have
neglected the weightier matters of
the law: justice and mercy and faith.
These you ought to have done,
without leaving the others undone.
Three times Satan tried to tempt him,
each time the Lord replied, “It is
written…” (Mt. 4:1-10)
 (4) - 'Man shall not live by bread
alone, but by every word that
proceeds from the mouth of God.' "
- Quoting Deut. 8:3
 (7) - 'You shall not tempt the LORD
your God.' " Quoting Deut 6:16
 (10) - You shall worship the LORD
your God, and Him only you shall
serve.' " Quoting Deut 6:13
 While on the cross –
 “. . . Jesus cried out with a loud
voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lama
sabachthani?" that is, "My God, My
God, why have You forsaken Me?" (Mt. 27:46 – Ps 22:1)
 And when Jesus had cried out with
a loud voice, He said, "Father, 'into
Your hands I commit My spirit.' "
Having said this, He breathed His
last. - (Lk. 23:46 quoting Psa. 31:5).
 The Jews who lived and died under
the Law of Moses would be judged
according to that Law –
 The one who did the will of the
Father would enter the kingdom of
heaven – all others who practiced
lawlessness would be destroyed –
Mat 7:21-23; Luke 11:28
 We will be judged by the words of
Christ – John 12:48-50; Luke 6:46;
[Mat 10:40 – He who receives you,
receives Me and He Who sent Me]
If you believe in Jesus you must believe in
the Scriptures As Being
From God
All True
Our Sole Authority
To Be Relied Upon
Will not pass away
Will Judge Us

2 Peter 1:12-21 (NKJV)
12 For this reason I will not be negligent
to remind you always of these things,
though you know and are established in
the present truth. 13 Yes, I think it is
right, as long as I am in this tent, to stir
you up by reminding you, 14 knowing
that shortly I must put off my tent, just
as our Lord Jesus Christ showed me.
2 Peter 1:12-21 (NKJV)
15 Moreover I will be careful to ensure
that you always have a reminder of
these things after my decease. 16 For we
did not follow cunningly devised fables
when we made known to you the
power and coming of our Lord Jesus
Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His
majesty.
2 Peter 1:12-21 (NKJV)
17 For He received from God the Father
honor and glory when such a voice
came to Him from the Excellent Glory:
"This is My beloved Son, in whom I am
well pleased." 18 And we heard this
voice which came from heaven when
we were with Him on the holy
mountain.
2 Peter 1:12-21 (NKJV)
19 And so we have the prophetic word
confirmed, which you do well to heed
as a light that shines in a dark place,
until the day dawns and the morning
star rises in your hearts; 20 knowing
this first, that no prophecy of Scripture
is of any private interpretation,
2 Peter 1:12-21 (NKJV)
21 for
prophecy never
came by the will of man,
but holy men of God
spoke as they were moved
by the Holy Spirit.
