Makes the ‘stack’ of services possible – supports
integrated Microsoft and third-party applications.
Enables UNM IT to provide and manage enterpriseclass directory and system management services that
are reliable, scalable and secure.
Provides consistent support and implementation of
university security and system management
standards.
Reduces total cost of ownership for UNM by
eliminating duplication of services.
Active
Directory
Enables UNM departments to redirect resources for department-specific
needs.
Enables effective delegation of authority.
Allows for collaboration between UNM departments by utilizing a common
toolset.
2007 – IT Agents requested one Active Directory
for UNM.
2008 – AD Committee was formed. AD Project
started.
2009 - Pilot migration was completed. AD
Standard and Design documents were
established.
2010 - Migrating departments.
