Saturday, October 30
French Exchange Students arrive in the afternoon
Philadelphia International airport ~3:55pm
Students spend the weekend with families
Sunday, October 31
Happy Halloween!!!
Students spend the day with host families
Monday, November 1
7:30 am - Arrive at PHS with host student (Faculty Dining Room)
PHS Orientation – HR, 1st and 2nd period;
American students meet at Faculty Dining room at 9:24am
Students shadow American host student 3rd -7th period
(bring sports clothes if your host student has gym class that day!)
Bag lunch or $$ for lunch in Penncrest Cafeteria.

Tuesday, November 2
Rose Tree Media Teacher In-Service Day – spend the day with families
Election Day!!
Wednesday, November 3
6:30 am - Arrive at PHS to board the bus – A-wing parking lot
- Washington DC. On the day before the presidential elections, visit major
sites in the nation’s capital such as the Washington Monument, Lincoln
Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, Korean War Veteran’s Memorial, and
the White House. You will have some free time to wander the many
buildings at the Smithsonian Museum Mall.
Bag lunch or $$ for lunch in the Olde Post Office food court.
Enjoy an all-you-can-eat dinner at Old Country Buffet. A number of PHS
students will join you.

Thursday, November 4
7:30 am – host family takes French Student to the Media Court Diner
Optimist Club breakfast meeting. Share favorite travel experiences with
members of the Optimist Club, while enjoying a typical American
Breakfast.
9:20am – PHS bus will meet @ Court Diner to transfer students to the
Camden Aquarium, New Jersey
Bag lunch or $$ for lunch in the Aquarium café)
View the Hippos and penguins, touch the sharks and jellyfish & More

12:45pm – PHS bus will drive students to 10th & South Street for a site tour
of Philadelphia’s Magical Gardens. (tour 1:30-2:15pm)

3:00-5:00pm – Stadium visit: Lincoln Financial Field – home of the
Philadelphia Eagles Football team.

French Students meet @ 7:30am in Mrs. Jackson’s classroom B122 to
experience Homeroom
Poster Project Day – type “bio” and decorate poster for display case
Visit Penncrest French classes, periods 1-6: see ORANGE sheet for groups
and schedule.
Bag lunch or $$ for lunch in PHS Cafeteria.

Saturday, Sunday Nov 6, 7 Students spend the weekend with families
Monday, November 8
7:30 am - Arrive at PHS with host student (Faculty Dining Room)
Finish posters and volunteers set up display case until 9am
9:15 am – Depart for Historic Philadelphia tour
Wear your most comfortable walking shoes
Walking tour of “City of Brotherly Love” pass the sites of Olde City, such
as Independence Square, the Liberty Bell, Betsy Ross House,
Elfreth’s Alley, City Hall, Old Bourse Building, LOVE statue
Lunch is included; bring $ for morning snack at the Bourse building

1:00pm – meet PHS bus for return to Penncrest

Enjoy a traditional family-style Thanksgiving meal.

Wednesday, November 10 7:00 am - Arrive at PHS to board the bus – A-wing parking lot
9:30am - Lancaster, Pennsylvania - The Amish Experience
A number of PHS students will join the bus as you experience the lifestyle
of the Amish. After viewing a film, visit a typical Amish Homestead, tour
the beautiful countryside in Lancaster; enjoy free time to shop at the outlet
stores. Family-style buffet dinner at Plain and Fancy Restaurant


