Data published under this area and the related domains follow FAOSTAT concepts, standards and definitions. 21/07/2015 8 How are Statistical Data organized in CountrySTAT Sub National Statistics: The same domains as the Core with disaggregated data at sub-national level. Data can be disseminated per Geographical Area (Administrative levels), Local Products (a description of local product and its main category is required) and time (Year and/or Month) 21/07/2015 9 How are Statistical Data organized in CountrySTAT Global Strategy (Minimum Set of Core Data) It includes the key variables of the four groups (Economic, Social, Environmental and Geographic Location) to be collected by a larger number of stakeholders for each country 10 21/07/2015 How are Statistical Data organized in CountrySTAT Agricultural Censuses and Surveys All data series available on agricultural census and surveys 11 21/07/2015 How are Statistical Data organized in CountrySTAT Statistical Yearbooks All data series available on Statistical Yearbooks 12 21/07/2015 How are Statistical Data organized in CountrySTAT Food Balance Sheets All data series available on Food Balance Sheets 13 21/07/2015 How are Statistical Data organized in CountrySTAT Thematic Modules: All other relevant indicators for the national statistics the system is flexible so here different folders can be created according to the needs of each Country 21/07/2015 14 How are Statistical Data organized in CountrySTAT National Institutions: Data coming from single national institutions as required by the country 21/07/2015 15 How are Statistical Data organized in CountrySTAT International Partners: Data coming from international organizations, associations, etc. relevant to the country 21/07/2015 16 How are Statistical Data organized in CountrySTAT You have enough domains to publish all data with the current tree ! Simple and comprehensive presentation of data 21/07/2015 18 Metadata available per dataset and easily accessible CountrySTAT in action 21/07/2015 19 CountrySTAT in action • How to get data in 3 clicks? You access data through CountrySTAT home page. Navigation tree 21/07/2015 20 CountrySTAT in action 21/07/2015 21 CountrySTAT in action 21/07/2015 22 CountrySTAT in action 21/07/2015 23 CountrySTAT in action 21/07/2015 24 CountrySTAT in action 21/07/2015 Practical demonstration 7/21/2015 Statistics Pillar (work flow) Get CountySTAT the data ready Table Create your table following the rules Fill it with the values, insert codes 21/07/2015 27 Download the template Upload in CS-Publisher Fill the metadata and validate the structure Structure is valid: Your table has been published Fill the cells with your values Error message: Check the structure of the table Error message: Check the structure of the table (core, sub-nat, or other?) Check the codes Check the metadata Statistics Pillar (Concepts, Definitions and Classifications) Statistical framework (concepts, definitions and classifications): To ensure comparability and consistency of data on agriculture and food among different countries. 21/07/2015 28 Statistics Pillar (Concepts, Definitions and Classifications) International codes A topic of primary importance is the international codes for commodities Example of CountrySTAT website table Statistics Pillar (Concepts, Definitions and Classifications) In order to understand and compare data in CountrySTAT framework, coherence is necessary between data of Core and Sub-National domains, with the recommendations of international standards. To do this, it is necessary to find a correspondence of agro-biological characteristics between the various local products related to major products classified by FAO international classification with a correspondence table between the two classifications. Two ways of getting the codes: DEFINITION and CLASSIFICATION of COMMODITIES website FAOSTAT website 7/21/2015 Statistics Pillar (Concepts, Definitions and Classifications) DEFINITION AND CLASSIFICATION OF COMMODITIES http://www.fao.org/WAICENT/faoinfo/economic/faodef/faodefe.htm 21/07/2015 32 Practical demonstration 7/21/2015 http://www.fao.org/economic/ess/ess-standards/commodity/en/ Select “Statistics” on the CountrySTAT – FAO page Statistics Pillar (Concepts, Definitions and Classifications) You will find: Statistics reference manual and FAOSTAT commodity definitions and correspondences Statistics Pillar (Concepts, Definitions and Classifications) Digit the item to find Statistics Pillar (Concepts, Definitions and Classifications) E.g.
