Goal Setting

O What do you want to accomplish in 10

each question with the person sitting next to
you

O Completing a mile in 9 minutes
O Goals can be divided into long-term goals and short-term goals
O Short-term goals are ones that you want to achieve soon- -
today or with in a week
O Example: Doing all your homework tonight
O Long-term goals are ones that you want to achieve that
may take weeks, months, or years.
O Example: graduating from high school, earning a college
degree, making honor roll each quarter.
.
Why do we make goals
O We set goals to help us move forward and give us
a sense of direction.
O They help us be the best that we can be and
make the impossible into the possible
O Setting goals help us achieve what we set out to
do
“ The trouble with not having a goal is that you can
spend your life running up and down the field and
never score.”
-- Bill Copeland
