The Business Case
Brand & Reputation:
- Demonstrate your commitment to staff and clients
- Network with employers in your sector and mark yourself as a leader in your
area
Recruitment & Retention:
- People perform better when they can be themselves – concealing one’s
sexual orientation at work reduces productivity (Peak Performance, 2008)
- Progressive employers recognise that their workforce should reflect the
diversity of the population in order to serve the needs of customers and
clients
Risk Mitigation:
- There is no limit to the amount that can be awarded at employment tribunal.
Avoid bottom line costs in legal fees, recruiting, inducting and training new
staff, not to mention repairing reputational damage.

Testimonial
"Joining the Stonewall Champions programme is one of the best decisions we've ever
taken. Not only have we been supported and encouraged by Charlie - our partner at
Stonewall - but we have a real sense that we have the best source of information and
advice on LGB issues available in the country.
We take our membership seriously and believe that the open and honest feedback and
constructive advice we receive from Stonewall makes a difference for our lesbian, gay
and bisexual colleagues. We've changed policies, updated materials and made progress
and, in a very real sense, grown in confidence to bring difference into the mainstream.
Retail is a business where understanding customers and reflecting the communities we
serve are key. Stonewall is an invaluable part of that process and we feel very fortunate
to have their support."
