Faculty Demonstration – Spring 2014
General Information about ctcLink
You will receive a link to the system and your User ID and temporary password by email. Your User ID will replace
your current SID or EID. After entering your User ID and Password you will see your Gateway, which has links to the
places you will go most often.
Faculty Center
Link from Gateway or follow this navigation in CS: Main Menu > Self-Service > Faculty Center > My Schedule
My Schedule
Click on the class link to see more information about that class.
Show Enrolled Classes Only will not show classes that do not have any students currently enrolled.
Class Roster
Click on a student’s name to open an email to that student.
Use checkboxes and the Notify Selected Students button to send email to multiple students.
Grade Roster
Grade roster is available when created by the registrar.
After adding grades, click Save, change status to Approved, and click Save again.
Advisor Center
Link from Gateway or follow this navigation in CS: Main Menu > Self-Service > Faculty Center > My Schedule
My Advisees
Your assigned advisees will show automatically. Click View Student Details to access additional information.
Use the View Data For Other Students button to search for a student that is not your advisee.
Student Center
Student Center shows what a student sees when the student logs in to ctcLink.
From this page, you can use the Other Academic drop-down menu to access academic requirements (degree
audit), transcript, and what-if report.
General Information
Shows information about a student, including service indicators (holds).
Transfer Credit
Some classes from your school will be in Transfer Credit if they did not have an associated course during
conversion from SMS to ctcLink.
Academics
Find information about a student’s academic plan be here, including information on their major.
Requesting or Reporting Absences
Navigation in HCM: Main Menu > Self-Service > Time Reporting > Report Time > Absence Request
When you enter the Start Date and select an Absence Name from the list, the form will expand.
Options for Absence Type will vary depending on your position.
When you click Submit, the request goes to your supervisor, who receives a notification.
Your supervisor can Approve, Deny, or Push Back. Push Back will send the request back to you for more
information.
